Adventure Safety Boats were contacted about the possibility of accompanying the new owner, who had never sailed before, let alone own a yacht, on the delivery cruise to give him the benefit of our experience and provide a confidence boost on what would be a quite committed voyage. The boat was purchased the day before we set sail from Southampton Town Marina bound for Preston Marina on the Lancashire coast. The eleven day voyage included several notorious pieces of water, the Portland race, rounding Lands End, Jack’s Sound, Ramsey Sound and the Menai Straits. The boat and owner were delivered two days inside the timescale estimated and he was enthused as a result.
