Adventure Safety Boats were tasked to man the safety boat, as the works involved a navigable waterway requiring a commercial skipper to be in charge. The launch and recovery each day were carried out using the site telehandler and manhandling the boat and engine, separately, down the bank to the water. The main area of operation was within the fast flowing weirpool, which required an experienced hand at the helm.
